Fundraising Dinners

The organisers, led by Michelle Tan would like to thank all diners, sponsors, donors and well-wishers for all their support as the dinners were a great success. Special thanks of course goes to Dr Publis without whom this would not have been possible.
 
All the selected 55 children can now look forward to receiving aid from the Foundation in the near future.
 

Another request for a library!

These children are attending tuition classes for English and Mathematics, conducted in a temple in Kegalle. During one of the visits by the Foundation members, the resident monk talked about his aspirations to improve the level of English and Mathematics in Kegalle and appealed that the Foundation consider setting up a library there.
 
The Friends of the Foundation having heard of this appeal have again pledged to source for books in the English language and to make Kegalle the home for the third K Sri Dhammananda Library!

Protem President Mr Kaluarachi accompanied by Advisor Rev. K. Siridhamma and Protem Treasurer Mr Athapaththu collecting the Certificate of Registration of the Kirinde Sri Dhammananda Foundation from the Ministry of Defence, Sri Lanka. The Foundation is officially registered as an NGO.

Launch of "A Book in Every Room"

Chef Dr Publis receiving the first batch of 5000 copies of "Why Worry" from Datuk Rev K Dhammaratana, Chief High Priest of Malaysia at the launch of "A Book in Every Room" project. These books will be distributed to hotels to be placed in their rooms, starting with the Mt Lavinia Hotel.

Another Library!

The Foundation was approached to start another library. This time in Ranna. After much deliberation, the Foundation has agreed to set up the next K Sri Dhammananda Library. Details will be made available soon.

Those who have books in English, suitable for a public library can contact us. This a great opportunity to participate in spreading the joys of reading.

The K Sri Dhammananda Library - Ranna is now open and furnished with more than 900 books in English. Thanks to all those who donated their books to enable others to enjoy them.

More Books to Kotawila

On the 4th of July, the Friends of the K Sri Dhammananda Foundation in Malaysia packed and sent off another 800 titles to the K Sri Dhammananda Library in Kotawila. They overwhelmingly exceeded their pledge of 300 titles should the residents of Kotawila successfully open the library on Wesak as a show of appreciation of the efforts put in by the residents.

Mr Ralahamy and his team installed 2 ceiling fans and mosquito nets for the aged monks as a start towards making the home more comfortable.

The K Sri Dhammananda Library in Kotawila opened its doors to the public on Wesak Day (17th May 2011). An estimated crowd of 400 witnessed the opening of this facility.
